Terms of Service
Effective date: July 15, 2026
These terms govern your use of VINdown ("the service"), available at vindown.com. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What VINdown is — and is not
VINdown publishes modeled estimates of vehicle value trends: depreciation curves, value-retention rankings, and comparison analytics built from public data sources and statistical baselines (see the methodology).
- VINdown is not an appraisal service. Figures are estimates, not offers, quotes, or guarantees of any vehicle's value.
- VINdown is not financial, investment, purchasing, or legal advice. Always verify a specific vehicle's condition, history, and local market before any transaction.
- Data may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
Acceptable use
- Don't disrupt or degrade the service (no flooding, denial-of-service, or circumvention of rate limits).
- Don't scrape or bulk-harvest the site programmatically; the CSV export links exist for reasonable personal use.
- Don't misrepresent VINdown output as an official valuation or appraisal.
Intellectual property
The VINdown name, logo, site design, and generated analytics are the property of the operator. Underlying public data remains subject to its original sources' terms (NHTSA, FuelEconomy.gov, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
Advertising
The service is free and supported by advertising served by third parties (including Google AdSense). Advertisers are responsible for their own content; an ad on VINdown is not an endorsement. See how ad cookies work in the privacy policy.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages — including losses arising from decisions made in reliance on estimates published here. Total liability for any claim is limited to $100 USD.
Changes
We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do. Continued use after a change is acceptance of the new terms.
